Wedding of my Dreams
My husband and I loved everything about our wedding day, and I want to share some of the moments that helped make it extra memorable. As someone who spent too much time on Pinterest looking for other couples who shared the same vision, I wanted to share my favourite tips for planning a stress free wedding.
Taking some time for the two of us was one of my favourite moments from the day. As much as we adored socializing and spending quality time with our friends and family, it was nice to take 30 minutes to laugh about our day and catch our breath before joining the party.
Thrift and craft! Most of my time preparing for the wedding was thrifting and making signs - which was more fun than it sounds. Great memories were made casually shopping and discovering unique pieces with my friends and family for the dinner tables. Not to mention it was cheaper than renting! If you are frugal like me, I highly recommend picking flowers and ordering from Costco Wholesale.
All our vases and flowers also served as wedding favours for the end of the night.
Find your favourite bakery and ask them to have fun with it! I was blown away with all the beautiful colours and designs The Carefree Cakery made. Having the desert table be a total surprise made my inner child very happy.
There were so many micro details that went into the planning, such as adding bubbles and paper fans to the chairs; having disposable cameras available for the dance; curating our own playlists; having family and friends help make the bouquets and string flowers as decorations the day before; and so much more.
Above all else, having a vision with no expectations attached made for the best surprises, and gave us both memories that we will cherish for life.
I would like to say a very special thanks to our amazing venue The Great Good Barn for sharing their amazing location with us. They were beyond accommodating and simply the most lovely couple. So much love in one space, it would be amazing to visit every year.
